Currently, the world feels volatile. That feeling runs deep through our society, reaching every person at every stage of life. Things that once felt absolute and unchanging have been dismantled. While the topic of AI feels beaten over the head at this point, it felt important to us to acknowledge the impact it has had on young people.

We have seen not just AI but also the rising cost of living and larger societal changes strip the youth experience away from young people.

Developing, growing, making mistakes and being cringe are all parts of being young that don’t seem to have space anymore. The goal of Reclaim is to heal some of the damage current media has done to our perspectives of ourselves.

This first edition of Reclaim is my entry into the magazine world.

In the spirit of trying things, being bad at things and creating stuff, I am incredibly excited to show you all what Reclaim is.

I, of course, could not do it without the help of the beautiful people on the Reclaim team who joined me on this journey despite my minimal prior experience.

Finally, a huge thank you to Hugh, our favourite intern and my close friend, who has put so much into getting this project off the ground. Thank you for supporting all my crazy ideas and silly side quests over the year; perhaps it's time you get an upgrade from intern to editor.
